Our nursery environment and facilities enable your child to explore, develop and learn. Our Babies, Tweenies, Toddlers and Preschoolers spaces are specially designed and equipped especially with them in mind. You’ll see many familiar homely items such as bookcases, tables, chairs, and sofas just much smaller than you are used to!

We consider the spaces around them to be your child’s third teacher, joining you as parents and us as educators in guiding them through their learning. And you’ll notice how we use our garden area as an outdoor classroom too, full of features to support their play and learning. Our Baby, Tweenies and Toddlers and Preschool rooms are perfect for the ages of children that spend their time in them.

We keep many aspects of our nursery environments consistent as we know your child will benefit greatly from this. With core resources, enriching toys, games and creative materials, that are always at hand for your child to play with. However, it is not unusual for parts of our nursery to become unique adventure places where your child’s imagination can run free!

Babies Environment

Babies (from 3 months) benefit from a bright and airy room. The room is split into 2 areas; a messy play area where each baby is encouraged to develop through creative and sensory activities and the main play room. The main play room offers a wide range of resources where the babies can safely explore and learn about the world. Circle time, rhymes and story telling take place daily, with nursery teachers catering for each babies individual requirements. We provide a dedicated sleep room where babies are supplied with their own bedding with the temperature constantly monitored to ensure babies are comfortable at all times.

We operate a 1:3 ratio in the Baby Room.

Tweenies Environment

The Tweenies Room is designed to help Tweenies to start learning how to become independent. It is full of sensory toys, texture and plenty of new opportunities for the Tweenies to engage and explore! In the early stages of the Tweenies development they are mostly exploring the world around them, so it is important that they experience a range of material, objects and sounds.

The Tweenies Room offer a spacious and airy room packed with activities including a wet /dry play area, role-play area, creative/arts area and plenty of table top space for group activities. In this room, Tweenies also begin to learn how to feed themselves using utensils with support and encouragement from staff. Children and staff sit together at this time learning the social skills surrounding a family meal time.

We operate a 1:3 ratio in the Tweenies Room for children aged under 2 years and a 1:4 ratio for those aged 2 and over.

Toddlers Environment

Toddlers enjoy activities structured around their changing interests. The Toddler room is well appointed, allowing your child to discover at their individual level of understanding. There are various dedicated areas in the room offering different activities. There is a story corner, a construction area to develop co-ordination and a messy area for arts and crafts. As this is an age where most children start toilet training the toddler room has direct access to brightly decorated children toilets where children are supported to learn toilet training skills.

We operate a 1:4 ratio in the Toddler Room.

Preschool Environment

Our preschool is a large bright and spacious area and has 2 base rooms, each with a creative area for messy play, a home corner, a reading corner, and a free play space. In addition to these facilities the children in preschool have access to a library with an interactive whiteboard to develop their numeracy and literacy skills. Room plans are designed to encourage children to participate in a well-structured day which helps prepare them for primary school. The preschool also has its own toilets and sinks to help encourage independence.

We operate a 1:8 ratio in the preschool room.

Outside Play Area

Our well equipped, fully enclosed outdoor play area allows children’s learning to continue outside, and with parents permission children are taken on outings, including trips to the local park and library. We try to ensure all age groups go out into the garden twice per day (conditions permitting).

Car Park

A drop off and pick up area helps to ensure that every visit to the nursery is welcoming and convenient for both your child and you.

Buggy Store

A buggy store is located at the front of the nursery where pushchairs, tricycles and scooters can be left during the day. The majority of our parents walk to nursery to drop their child off  then leave their buggy in the store before crossing over the road and jumping onto the tube.
